CLYBURN SEES BOOGEYMEN EVERYWHERE HE LOOKS
House Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn, the highest-ranking black member of Congress, has a simple explanation for Barack Obama’s political woes. I’ll give you three guesses, and the first two don’t count:
RACISM.
Hmm, imagine that. On Planet Clyburn, opposition to Obama isn’t due to his policies or ideology – let alone, the content of his character. Nope, it’s the color of his skin that causes millions of Americans to disapprove of this president and his agenda.
“You know, I’m 70 years old,” Clyburn said. And I can tell you; people don’t like to deal with it, but the fact of the matter is, the president’s problems are in large measure because of the color of his skin.”
The Congressman also claims that the “birther” movement was fueled by racism as well:
“I don’t know why anybody didn’t ask for John McCain’s birth certificate. He wasn’t even born in this country.”
Here’s the fly in the disingenuous ointment: While liberals jump at every opportunity (real and imagined) to charge racism at the drop of a conservative hat, (after all, everyone knows that “conservative” and “racist” are synonymous.), how do they reconcile the far left’s disillusionment with Obama? Perhaps the far-out loons are guilty of “reverse racism.” Maybe they believe that Barack Obama doesn’t behave black enough.
Does your brain hurt whenever you attempt to comprehend the inconsistent “logic” that spews forth from the American liberal? Relax and take a deep breath – don’t waste your time; they don’t believe most of the nonsense that comes out of their mouths anyway.
Back to Clyburn – who has played the Obama race card since the early days of the 2008 primaries. During Obama’s first month in office, he suggested Republican opposition to the “stimulus package” was largely due to animosity towards blacks. Later that year, he likened ObamaCare protesters to those who attacked civil-rights marchers in the south.
Clyburn commented on a recent racist image depicting Obama as a chimpanzee:
“When he [Obama] sees his face being put on a chimpanzee’s body; do you think he didn’t see that? And I suspect they send the same faxes to his office they send to mine.”
While the image of Obama was reprehensible and disgusting, I wonder if Mr. Clyburn has seen this picture -and if so – if he has any thoughts about it?
Or maybe these?
Here’s the deal: Two wrongs or two millions wrongs don’t make a right. James Clyburn is simply another example of the hypocrisy and demagoguing that we hear from liberals on a regular basis. MSNBC’s Ed Schultz is currently suspended without pay for referring to Laura Ingraham as a “right-wing slut.” Can you imagine the level of outcry that would occur if Sean Hannity or Bill O’Reilly used the same language to describe Nancy Pelosi?
As for Obama, Mr. Clyburn, I have a few other factors for consideration. Perhaps it’s the 9% unemployment rate. Or maybe it’s the horrendous deficit and the perception that your president and his (your) party would rather run commercials featuring grandmas being dumped off cliffs than offer serious proposals for true budget reform. Perhaps it’s the lack of respect for this man, and the belief that he is a weak, self-aggrandizing pretender to the throne who lacks the courage to make bold decisions or take timely action when needed.
Then again, maybe it’s because Barack Obama is black, James. After all, you have a hell of a lot more experience identifying racism than most of us. Although, it’s funny how Herman Cain doesn’t suffer from the same discrimination, isn’t it? Go figure.
