‘IMPORTANT TO THE SECURITY INTERESTS OF THE UNITED STATES’ – SURE IT IS, O
THE O-MAN AND PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY PRESIDENT MAHMOUD ABBAS
The O-man has circumvented Congress again. Ho-hum; just another day at the office. While most of O’s extraconstitutional actions have been directly related to his reelection – pandering to Hispanics and other minorities, shilling for labor unions or ensuring the taxpayer-funded right of women to end the lives of their unborn children at will – this time O’s cause was much closer to his heart: the plight of the poor, defenseless Palestinians, who live at the mercy of the ruthless, oppressive Israelis.
Yep, America, O has once again overridden Congress; this time to lift the U.S. ban on financial aid to the Palestinian Authority, saying it is “important to the security interests of the United States.” Really, O? The same way it is important to the security interests of the United States for Israel to return to its 1967 borders? Help me out here, O - whose security are we talking about again?
The lifting of the ban means, among other things, that a $192 million aid package that was frozen after the Palestinian Authority tried to circumvent the United States and achieve statehood through the UN will now be delivered.
Wait, what? I got it! The O-man admires the way the Palestinians attempted to circumvent the United States – just like he circumvents Congress, the Supreme Court, the Defense of Marriage Act and existing federal immigration law! And now he wants to reward them – my bad.
THE O-MAN AND ISRAELI PRESIDENT BENJAMIN NETANYAHU
So, what’s the problem? The Times of Israel explains:
The unilateral statehood gambit was strongly opposed by Israel, which said Abbas was seeking to avoid negotiating the necessary compromises and modalities of statehood with Israel. The US indicated it would veto a resolution in the Security Council seeking unilateral recognition of “Palestine,” but the issue has not come to a vote, because the Palestinians were unable to obtain sufficient support in the Security Council. They may yet seek a non-binding endorsement of statehood in the UN General Assembly.
Section 3 of Congress’s Palestinian Accountability Act, which applies to 2012, stipulates that “no funds available to any United States Government department or agency… may be obligated or expended with respect to providing funds to the Palestinian Authority.” Obama has now signed a waiver, however, the White House said Friday, and asked Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to inform Congress accordingly.
A spokesman for the Regime argued that the funds are aimed at “ensuring the continued viability of the moderate Palestinian government” under the leadership of President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad. (Translation: Less rockets will be fired into Israeli neighborhoods than would be the case if Iran simply annexed Lebanon.) Skeptics note that much of the Middle East was deemed to be “promising” and “moderate” before the laughably-named “Arab Spring,” but is in danger of becoming far more tyrannical as a result; not to mention far more ominous for Israel.
The Rat reports; you decide. Regardless, the O-man does as he chooses – and continues to embarrass America.
Did you notice in the picture how the completely disgusted O-man isn’t even looking at Bibi?

I lol when I read, “The O-man has circumvented Congress again. Ho-hum; just another day at the office.” Obama is such a dweeb.

I am not sure Iran could annex Lebanon certainly not by geographical link but not even puppet government. Iranians are Persians. They look down on Arabs and Arabs distrust Persians. Islam does not override nationalism and militarism in this case. Prez vs congress trying to outmaneuver each other is nothing new. Except these days it seems whoever wins , the action still puts the public at the losing end.
Yeah, I thought about the geographical “problem” too, but decided that the humor of the comment was more important.
Irrespective of the whole Arab v. Persian thing, (See: Iraqi-Iranian War), the history of Iran’s support of Hamas and Hezbollah (despite their oft-times stormy relationships) was the point of the comment.
Like your blog, by the way.
