EVEN THE LIBERAL MEDIA IS LAUGHING AT THE O-MAN’S TWO-STEP ON SAME-SEX MARRIAGE
You know the Regime is in trouble when Joe Biden is the only one who makes sense. Yep, Crazy Joe said earlier this week that he is “absolutely comfortable” with same-sex marriage – committing the cardinal sin of liberals in the process: speaking the truth. And guess what? Fine. The vice president had the cojones to speak forthrightly, give him that. The O-man, as usual, continues to be a completely different story. Trying to get the Regime to clarify O’s position on the subject of gay marriage is like trying to nail Jell-O to the wall. Or eat a soup sandwich. You get my drift.
There’s an old saying: “If you always tell the truth, you never have to remember what you said.” The truth is, the truth has always been an enemy of liberals. Liberals must generally speak out of (at least) both sides of their mouths as they seek to placate diverse groups of voters. Yes, America; obfuscation is the requisite skill of liberals. It really is that simple.
Think about the thought process going on in the tortured mind of the O-man:
“Damn, this sucks. I gotta pander to the LGBT crowd – I need not only their votes, but the votes of those who support them, too. But – I can’t afford to piss off southern Democrats and other folks who oppose gay marriage, so what the hell do I do?”
Of course, the O-man must do what all liberals do – all the time: obfuscate his ass off. It’s exactly what he did with the Keystone XL Pipeline decision: O straddled the fence between the environmentalist wacko movement and average working Americans as long as he could – only making a decision when the evil Republicans “forced his hand.” (bull hockey.)
Incidentally, as I’ve previously written, the O-man will ultimately approve the pipeline – after the election - if he is reelected. Trust me.
So, back to gay marriage. As I said at the top, you know the Regime is in trouble when Biden is the only one making sense. You also know the Regime is in trouble when the Obama Media Group turns on The One. ABC News White House correspondent Jake Tapper grilled Regime mouthpiece Jay Carney Monday over the O-man’s position on gay marriage – and whether he will change his stance after the 2012 election. To his credit, Tapper dismissed the President’s 17 month “evolution” on the topic as “cynical.” (Good for Jake – but isn’t this just like liberals? Tapper gets to boost his street cred as a “journalist” by calling out Carney – yet ABC fails to air it.)
After suggesting that Obama’s “likely future” would be support for gay marriage, Tapper asked Carney:
“Why not just come out and say it and let voters decide? It seems – it seems cynical to hide this until after the election.”
Laughably, the now-irritated Carney responded:
“I’m sorry you don’t want to hear about the president’s support for LGBT rights, because it’s considerable.”
But Tapper would have none of it:
“That’s not accurate. It’s not that I don’t want to hear it; I don’t want to hear the same talking points 15 times in a row.”
Tapper’s network – ABC – desperately tried to sell an uncritical take on the controversy over the O-man’s nebulous position on gay marriage:
”What the President seems to want is space; space to say that perhaps in a second term he might change the policy.”
Damn - that sure sounds characteristic of history’s greatest leaders, huh? Not to mention the top four presidents in the history of the United States.
CNN and NBC even joined in the feeding frenzy. CNN’s Jessica Yellin asked whether Obama was trying to “have it both ways before an election” and whether he should “stop dancing around the issue,” while NBC’s Chuck Todd – of all people – said with a smirk, “So help me out here. He opposes bans on gay marriage, but he doesn’t yet support gay marriage?”
For the record, our embarrassingly disingenuous president insisted that his position was “evolving” way back on December 22, 2010. Who says their position is “evolving” without knowing full well where the “evolution” will lead? Other than someone who lacks the integrity and intestinal fortitude to tell the truth, I mean.
By the time the Q&A was over, Carney was completely frazzled. Asked an unrelated question as to whether the O-man supports the reelection of scandal-plagued and House-censured Charlie Rangle, the Regime mouthpiece replied:
“I mean — well, yes, sure. I just don’t – I haven’t – I haven’t been asked it before so I – the president – I’ll have to – I’ll have to get back to you.”
Didn’t know whether to poop or wind your watch, did you Jay? Such is life for the mouthpiece of a president who lacks conviction – and honesty.
So, ABC, your White House correspondent asks tough, legitimate questions of Barack Obama – and you don’t air the exchange. Would you do the same if the president were George Bush? What does that say about your credibility?
Oh what a tangled web we weave. Hell – John Kerry’s even confused.

At least he stopped lying about it tonight. As one might expect, he started exploiting it on his website immediately – asking for campaign contributions. What a jackass.
