Emanuel Rejects Chick-fil-A; Welcomes Farrakhan To Windy City

OBAMA CRONY CONTINUES THE MADNESS – AND HYPOCRISY

I’m considering renaming the blog The Hypocrisy Of Liberals Knows No Bounds - since I’m taken to making the observation on an almost daily basis. Okay, maybe I won’t rename the blog, but it doesn’t appear that I’ll stop making the observation anytime soon – if ever.

Today’s outstanding contribution comes from none other than the Godfather himself – Rahm Emanuel. The mayor of Chicago – and O’s former White House Chief of Staff – has joined the liberal lemming chorus and spoken out in feigned indignance over Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy’s opposition to gay marriage. Fair enough; all good liberals are dutifully jumping on the “We Hate Chick-fil-A because we don’t believe its CEO has the right to express personal opinions that conflict with our personal opinions!” bandwagon as fast as they can. Here’s the mayor:

“Chick-fil-A’s values are not Chicago values. They’re not respectful of our residents, our neighbors and our family members. And if you’re gonna be part of the Chicago community, you should reflect Chicago values.”

However, it appears that the self-righteous Emanuel has no problem with welcoming Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan’s army to Chicago to “help stop the violence” in the Windy City’s (black) neighborhoods. “Calypso Louie,” as Rush calls him, has a long history of not only anti-Semitism, but hateful rants against white America as well. Before we continue, let’s revisit a short list of Louie’s great hits:

“They call them terrorists, I call them freedom fighters.” – on Hezbollah, at District Council 33, Union Hall, Philadelphia, April 22, 1996

“White people are potential humans – they haven’t evolved yet.” – to the Philadelphia Inquirer, March 2000

“These false Jews promote the filth of Hollywood. It’s the wicked Jews, the false Jews that are promoting lesbianism, homosexuality – and Zionists have manipulated Bush and the American government on the war in Iraq” – at a February 2006 NOI event

“The white man is our mortal enemy, and we cannot accept him. I will fight to see that vicious beast go down into the late of fire prepared for him from the beginning, that he never rise again to give any innocent black man, woman or child the hell that he has delighted in pouring on us for 400 years.” – before a City College audience in New York

Alderwoman Debra Silverstein, an Orthodox Jew, says it’s “good” that Farrakhan is “helping” in the fight against crime, “but it doesn’t eradicate the comments that he’s made about the Jewish community.”

However, Chicago’s first Jewish mayor offered no such caveat; O’s former chief of staff chooses to ignore Farrakhan’s history:

“People of faith have a role to play and community leaders have a role to play in helping to protect our neighborhoods and our citizens. You cannot get there on just one piece of an anti-crime strategy.

The police have a role to play. Tearing down abandoned buildings has a role to play. Shutting liquor stores that are a cancer in the community have a role to play. Community leaders have a role to play. Pastors have a role to play. Principals have a role to play. And most importantly, parents have roles to play. They have decided, the Nation of Islam, to help protect the community. And that’s an important ingredient, like all the other aspects of protecting a neighborhood.”

The “community,” mayor? I wonder if Calypso Louie would have been so anxious to send his army to help protect the Jewish community. Or the white community? Whaddya think, Rahm?

As for Emanuel’s faux outrage over Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy’s personal views, Mike Huckabee summed it up best:

“Now we have Rahm Emanuel, mayor of Chicago, hoping to prevent a legitimate business from locating in his city because one of the owners happens to believe in the Biblical view of marriage. Will Rahm seek to evict the Catholic and Evangelical churches because their priests and pastors not only believe it, but preach that from their pulpits? Has Rahm Emanuel been elected to an office high enough to give him the ability to censor the speech of people he disagrees with?

Here is the issue: Chick-fil-A is in the chicken business. No one has said they discriminate against customers or employees or serve an unsafe product. In fact, they are known for exceptional service to their guests, they are beloved by their employees, and obviously the food must be good to grow to 1600 stores. This is about a small but disproportionate minority of militants who are attempting to bully a family and a business and are spewing vile hate speech toward the company because one of its executives said something they dislike and disagree with.

If Chick fil-A forced its customers to sign an oath stating they are heterosexual before they could buy a chicken sandwich, the angry critics would not only have a point, but I would join them. I think it is great that Chick-fil-A is run by people with a Biblical world view and they operate it based on Biblical values, but there is a bigger issue. That’s not what this is about. The company sells chicken and doesn’t force a view on its customers or employees, but the owners shouldn’t be disenfranchised from their citizenship and rights of free speech, nor should they be kept from operating their business in cities across the country because a few wanna-be- tyrants disagree with their beliefs.”

Well said, governor. I’m always amused by the selective “big tent” of liberals. That tent is just big enough to hold all of those who toe the line – just not quite big enough to hold any of those who don’t.

  1. Today’s terrorists are tomorrow’s freedom fighters, e.g Menachem Begin and Yassir Arafat. I suppose it depends on your perspective and who is writing history. By the way, if you are commenting in response, your comments are not showing up over here. My most recent comment said it was awaiting moderation and you said you didn’t do that. WordPress seems screwed up.

    • Your comment on “tomorrow’s freedom fighters,” is unworthy of response as it relates to Hezbollah, the PLO and al Qaeda.

Didn’t quite follow your other comment – about my comments not “showing up over here.” As I’ve told you , I moderate no one’s comments. WordPress definitely screws up; I discovered yesterday that all the Facebook and Twitter “likes” on my posts prior to 7/20 have disappeared. Many blogs had hundreds of “likes.” Hmm.

  2. Taking my chick six miles out of the normal path usually tread for a sandwich. New old saying, according to me… with the new tech crap…”the angle of the dangle is directional to the GPS coordinates of the nearest Chick-Fil-A ”

She’s still “my chick”…a few years down the road only proportional to the long term affects of life. Youse will get it down the line, if you ain’t already

    • While it often takes a couple of times through your comments to get the gist of them, kudos to you for supporting Chick-fil-A, unit – even if it is six miles out of your way!

      • “Gist of them”…I’m sorry. I guess you didn’t grow up with the ole “angle of the dangle” saying. I was just saying now GPS directional finder points ole dangle and “chick” to traditional couple business. Modern tech “crap.” That’s all. I don’t won’t Obama to say “you didn’t eat there by yourself.”

  3. Got all that, unit – including “the angle of the dangle.” It’s the “Taking my chick six miles out of the normal path usually tread for a sandwich” stuff that I have to reread, sometimes. ;-)

    • I think point is Rahm welcomes Farrakhan, rejects Chick-Fil-A is the issue. Sick ! Have Hardees down the street, drive six miles…chick or no chick, give up sausage bisquit for chicken is above and beyond the calling. Now above and beyond is way I go…now eat more chicken. :) However Farrakhan doesn’t eat sausage does he?

My chick…marriage 35 years…I’m the one with the dangle. We are happy that way. Clear…or reread?
