HEATHENS’ FULL-COURT ASSAULT ON CHRISTMAS CONTINUES. WHAT A SHOCK
As “luck” would have it, we have yet another atheist-drama over a nativity scene inside a city hall – this one in Warren, MI. (What a complete shock, huh?)
As their “They got a cookie, why can’t we have a cookie?” mantra goes, if Christian-based imagery is going to be present, the town must also allow “other religions” (atheists) to put up displays that represent “different viewpoints.” (atheism)
So what display does this “other religion” demand be posted next to the nativity, you ask? A sign with the following message:
“At this season of the Winter Solstice, let reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.”
As I’ve pointed out in the past, it’s curious that “Winter Soltice worshipers” never extol the virtues of atheism – choosing instead to denigrate Christianity. The “curious” part, of course, is that this is the exact same strategy employed by Lord Obama and the Democrats against the Republicans.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation claims that Warren Mayor Jim Fouts is discriminating against atheists and nonbelievers by engaging in “illegal censorship.” So far, the mayor has ignored the group’s requests to post the sign. (Excellent job, mayor; congrats on your moral conviction and integrity.)
While Winter Soltice worshiping atheists have attempted to place the sign inside city hall, it has been removed; Fouts says permission has not been given for the sign to be displayed. If the mayor continues to ignore the atheists’ demands, the FFRF has pledged to file a lawsuit “in the coming days.” (Presumably, after they open their Christmas presents.)
Do you suppose atheists who put up Christmas trees in their homes place “Winter Soltice” signs next to them?
