ALLOWS FUNDS TO FLOW TO WEST BANK, GAZA DESPITE HOLD BY FOREIGN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
Not that there were ever any doubt as to where the loyalty of Barack Hussein Obama and his Regime lies in the Middle East, but the letter delivered to key members of Congress this week informing them that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is allowing U.S. funds to flow to the West Bank and Gaza despite a hold by the House Foreign Affairs Committee is yet more evidence that Hill has followed the O-man straight into bed with the Palestinians.
The move is also another example of the Regime’s use of executive-branch authority which is sure to anger Republican lawmakers concerned with protecting the Congressional oversight role. Silly Republicans: why would you expect O to respect Congress when he has not only ignored the U.S. Constitution and existing federal law, but has also relegated the Supreme Court of the United States to “unelected group” status with no right to overturn laws he supports?
The $147 million package of “economic support funds” for the Palestinian people will be disbursed per the Regime’s dictate, despite the fact that Administrations (vs. Regimes) generally do not disburse funding over the objections of lawmakers on relevant committees. (See: Authoritarian Regimes.)
Hillary’s State Department sees it this way:
“The funds deliver critical support to the Palestinian people and those leaders seeking to combat extremism within their society and build a more stable future. Without funding, our programs risk cancellation. Such an occurrence would undermine the progress that has been made in recent years in building Palestinian institutions and improving stability, security, and economic prospects, which benefits Israelis and Palestinians alike.”
House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen sees it another way:
“The U.S. has given $3 billion in aid to the Palestinians in the last five years alone, and what do we have to show for it? Now the administration is sending even more. Where is the accountability for U.S. taxpayer dollars?”
Ros-Lehtinen also said she was disappointed that the Regime “would employ hardball tactics against Congress and threaten to send, over Congressional objection, U.S. taxpayer dollars to the Palestinian Authority.”
I don’t mean to sound disrespectful, Madame Chairwoman, but where the hell have you been? O has demonstrated time and time again that he has no respect for the Constitution, existing laws, the Supreme Court or precedents and protocol. And you’re surprised that the Regime is going to ignore the Chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee? Really?
Besides, what could possibly go wrong were any of those funds to end up in Gaza – in the hands of Hamas?
Dictatorial power is so macho – especially when employed by a pantsuit-wearing Secretary of State.
